چکیده

We examine a multiple-access communication system in which multiuser detection is performed without knowledge of the number of active interferers. Using a statistical-physics approach, we compute the single-user channel capacity and spectral efficiency in the large-system limit.

Adaptive Subcarrier Assignment and Power Distribution in Multiuser OFDM Systems with Proportional Data Rate Requirement

A low complexity dynamic subcarrier and power allocation methodology for downlink communication in an OFDM-based multiuser environment is developed. The problem of maximizing overall capacity with constraints on total power consumption, bit error rate and data rate proportionality among users requiring different QOS specifications is formulated. Assuming perfect knowledge of the instantaneo...

Asymptotic Capacity of Static Multiuser Channels Under Optimal User Identification and Data Detection

Asymptotic Close to Optimal Resource Allocation in Centralized Multi-band Wireless Networks

This paper concerns sub-channel allocation in multi-user wireless networks with a view to increasing the network throughput. It is assumed there are some sub-channels to be equally divided among active links, such that the total sum rate increases, where it is assumed each link is subject to a maximum transmit power constraint. This problem is found to be a non-convex optimization problem and i...

Sum-capacity, Scheduling, and Multi-user Diversity in Mimo Broadcast Systems a Dissertation Submitted to the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Committee on Graduate Studies of Stanford University in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy

Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) communication systems and multiuser diversity (MUDiv) are two important foundations that allow future wireless systems to achieve a higher data rate. Earlier studies show that with an efficient use of spatial and user domains, communication systems can achieve data rate close to the fundamental capacity limit. However, these studies are based on the ideal a...

Integrated Access Control and Detection for Multimedia CDMA Systems: Part I - Bidimensional Asymptotic Capacity Analysis∗

In this paper, we analyze the tradeoff between receiver implementation complexity and system performance for multimedia CDMA systems. While using multiuser receivers greatly enhances the system performance, implementation for bursty multimedia traffic requires frequent filter coefficient updates thus substantially increasing the implementation complexity. As a tradeoff, we analyze reduced compl...
